According to Foreca’s on-duty Meteorologist, according to the current forecast, Friday would look like the warmest day of the week until then.
About to start during the week, we reach for hellera in the western, central and southern parts of the country.
The Hellera limit could be crossed as early as Wednesday, says the meteorologist on duty at the Finnish Meteorological Institute Tuukka Keränen.
“It will be warm from Tuesday until Sunday, and in some places it is possible that the temperature limit of 25 degrees will break,” says Foreca’s meteorologist on duty Sara Salonen.
It is uncertain where it is the warmest. It is influenced by where the sun shines best, and whether the wind is still blowing from the cool sea.
According to Keränen, it is also uncertain whether possible exceedances of the heat limit are isolated cases or whether the heat is more widespread.
By Wednesday at the latest, the temperature will rise to 23–24 degrees at least in central Finland, for example in the Jyväskylä region, says Keränen. Then the spark plug might pop. Similarly, in the northern parts of Uusimaa, it may be 25 degrees.
There is also a very warm air mass moving inland in the west, so it can be hot there too, says Salonen.
According to Salonen, according to the current forecast, Friday would look like the warmest day of the week until then.
Helsinki in the region and elsewhere near the coast, the wind blowing from the sea cools the air by a few degrees.
Consequently, the cool sea in the Helsinki region interferes with the rise in temperature up to the freezing point, says Keränen. However, if the direction of the wind changes, it can be at least almost hot in the Helsinki region as well.
“Toward the end of the week, there are uncertainties as to whether the wind will turn to blow from the west, which would be immediately felt in the temperature,” says Salonen.
It is it is certain that the whole week will be warm, except for the very northernmost Finland.
“There are temperatures of around 20 degrees even in the heights of Southern Lapland. Along with the warming, stronger showers may also occur, possibly with thunder in some places,” says Keränen.
The heat limit will probably not be exceeded on Monday or Tuesday. However, the temperature may reach around 20 degrees in the west and south. Cloudiness is still abundant in places, which cools the weather.
On Monday, there will be individual showers in the eastern and northern parts of the country, and the same areas are also expected to have showers later this week.
