The General Directorate of Sports of the Government of Aragon has already begun work to create the Aragonese Sports Cluster with the aim of strengthening the community’s sports system and maximizing its economic and social impact.
Leading companies in the sports sector in Aragon, heads of sports entities and key groups at the national level, representatives of city councils, those in charge of managing public sports services, and representatives of Aragonese universities have joined together with the Government of Aragon to explore cluster creation. The Federation of Sports Management Associations of Spain (FAGDE) and the Aragonese Association of Sports Managers (GEDA) have also participated.
A meeting in which each of these agents explained their experience and perspective on the importance of structuring and energizing the sports sector in Aragon.
The general director of Sports, Cristina García, has stressed that “the data reinforces the relevance of promoting a solid and collaborative structure around the sports sector”, in addition to remembering that the community already has other successful clusters, such as logistics, audiovisual, energy, and health. In addition, the autonomous community is the third in import and export of sports equipment nationwide, ranking only behind Catalonia and Madrid.
The next steps to shape this cluster will be taken in the coming months for which professionals will be available.
