Meinrad Spenger, CEO of Masorange, today showed the path that the company will follow in the coming years in the face of the rapid advancement of technology and the development of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI). “We want to go from being a telecommunications operator to becoming a provider of technological services, offering cloud services or cybersecurity,” he stated during his participation in the seventh congress of managers organized in Santiago de Compostela by the Association for the Progress of the Directorate (APD).
“This year alone, a total investment of 160 billion euros in the development of AI, which will have more impact on the world economy than the Internet or electricity”he said. In his opinion, “companies have to be prepared and train their employees to have well-made and coherent databases and to be able to benefit from this development.”
The CEO of MasOrange has no doubt that “in 2030 there will only be two types of companies, those that use artificial intelligence correctly and those that do not exist” and the objective of the company he runs, with half a million clients businesses, the vast majority of which are SMEs, is “to be able to make that path easier for them”.
The development of 5G
Along the same lines, the CEO of MasOrange has also claimed the need to make advanced 5G a reality, which will allow new applications and services. “We believe that in ten years there will be more humanized robots than people on earth and the connection will be total thanks to the Internet of Things,” He assured, also stating that “we want to have the best talent, and not just technological, to be a leader in customer satisfaction and to have a positive impact on society.”
Masorange lasts these days developing a strategic plan that will guide the company’s steps for at least the next three years. The work, in which the consulting firm McKinsey participates, plans to be announced shortly once the Employment Regulation File (ERE) has been formalized, with two hundred workers who have signed up for the voluntary departure plan. The telecom’s main guidelines anticipate investments worth 4,000 million euros until 2027 and greater efforts to reduce debt.
