Aena’s airport network plans to operate 21,441 flights during the Kings Bridge, between yesterday, Friday and January 6, which represents 2,524 more operations (+13%) than the 18,917 in the same period of 2023, according to data provided to Europa Press by the airport manager.
In total, The Christmas period will reach 97,420 flights between December 20 and January 7, 2025, 17.7% more compared to a year before, with two additional days in 2024.
The three airports with the most operations during this end of Christmas will be Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, Barcelona-El Prat and Gran Canaria. Specifically, that of the capital of Spain is at the head of air movements with 4,416.
They are then followed El Prat, which will operate a total of 3,602 planned movements, while the Gran Canaria airport will schedule a total of 1,677 operations. Closing the list are the Málaga-Costa del Sol and Palma de Mallorca aerodromes, which will register a total of 1,674 and 1,320 flights, respectively.
On the other hand, this first weekend of 2025 will add a total of 10,852 flights at Spanish airports, 810 more compared to 2023.
