The new 2D action and exploration game is presented with an exciting 16-bit aesthetic trailer.
The metroidvania are more fashionable than ever and the arrival of a new installment of the iconic saga that shares a name in the genre has only managed to increase the interest in these particular games of exploration, action and platforming. Metroid Dread arrived on October 8, ranking as one of the great releases of the year with a masterful resurrection of the 2D Metroid saga.
Vibrant colors and detailed designsIn the meantime, Dear villagers has presented Souldiers, a promising metroidvania that stands out for a artistic secluded care pixel art style, with vibrant colors and detailed designs reminiscent of the times of the 16 bit. In the trailer we can see the scout, archer and sorcerer, discovering a world with different regions very different from each other.
At Souldiers, we will get to Terragaya, a land on the edge of the beyond, with the aim of finding the Guardian and advancing between the different worlds, but none of the heroes have really died and they will have to fight their way solving puzzle, exploring every corner while we improve our characters.
We will walk on the threshold between life and death in this fantasy world where hand-to-hand combat is the mainstay of their action. The world of Terragaya is interconnected and in it we will find classic elements of the genre: puzzles, treasures, bosses and hidden paths. Souldiers is described as “a metroidvania with fast-paced Souls-style fighting.” Its launch is planned for Spring 2022 for PC and Nintendo Switch.
