With the decision, the operation of the maternity ward should cease in 2026. However, the decision is planned to be corrected.
Chairman and MP of Inkoon Municipal Board Henrik Wickström (rkp) says that a correction claim is being prepared. It must be left no later than mid-July.
The rectification claim is intended to raise concerns about the availability of services.
Wickström however, in order for the claim to be successful, other issues must also be raised. According to him, the investigation is about whether the abolition vote involves, for example, administrative procedural errors or deficiencies in the decision-making preparation process.
A request for correction was made from the previous meeting, held in May, because some of the decision-makers were considered to be obstructed.
“Our first rectification claim was successful. However, the outcome of the vote was not pleasant or desirable.”
Rkp opposed the abolition of the maternity ward in both the May and Monday votes. The Social Democrats, on the other hand, wanted to postpone the decision at the first meeting.
