Also Sony PlayStation is not indifferent to the theme of preservation of video gamesso much so that he set up a new division called “Preservation Team” which we suppose will have the aim of preserving and making available the videogame heritage of the softeca of PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP and PS Vita in the years to come.
Confirmation came via the resume and a post from senior build engineer Garrett Fredleywho claims to be an early member of Sony’s PlayStation Preservation Team.
“Today is my first day as a senior build engineer for PlayStation, working as one of the first hires for the newly created Preservation team,” reads Garrett Fredely’s post.
“Preserving games was my first professional passion, so I’m thrilled to have had the opportunity to go back to basics.”
At the moment it is not clear how the PlayStation Preservation Team will act, but it is clear that Sony’s goal is to preserve its vast software library and make sure that these are accessible to fans for years to come.
Among other things, as you probably know, PlayStation Plus Premium, which will be available in Italy in June, will allow you to access one wide range of PS1, PS2, PSP and PS3 titles. So one of the team’s goals could be to expand the retrogame catalog of the new Sony PlayStation subscription service tier over time.
In this regard, just a few days ago the Korean rating board classified Siphon Filter 1, 2, Dark Mirror and Logan’s Shadow.
