CES 2024 was the occasion for Sony to give updates on films God of War and Horizonas well as to show a snippet of the animated film by Gravity Rush and something related to Patapon. In short, the Japanese multinational is very busy in bringing its videogame intellectual properties to the cinema, after the successes of the The Last of Us TV series, the Twisted Metal series and the Gran Turismo film.
The new information
From what has been learned, i movie God of War and Horizon are in the writing phase, while Gravity Rush is in an advanced state of work. Incidentally, in a video dedicated to Torchlight, Sony's new technology for cinema (and not only), a character was shown jumping from a building, with the Gravity Rush logo clearly visible (minute 12:07 of the video below ), then a short montage began between scenes from the film and the motion capture sessions.
The Gravity Rush section ended with the character heading towards a flying city, apparently destroyed by a gigantic winged demon.
Unfortunately, no other details have been shared, neither on Gravity Rush, nor on God of War and Horizon, so we have to be satisfied. It remains confirmed that Kratos' cinematic adventures will be published by Prime Video, while Aloy's by Netflix.
With regard to Patapon, something related to a new project in development with a new graphic style was shown (minute 2:32 of the video). It's actually unclear what it is. The video talks about “IP Development Gaming / Anime”, so the possibilities are different. We'll see in the future if anything will be announced.
