Sony has published a new video from its event dedicated to the presentation of the company’s future market strategy and, in imagining the future, the Tokyo company has shown what it imagines to be a possible controller or portable consolewhich you can see in the cover image.
The video, seen below, includes a brief look at a futuristic game controller used to control a character hovering in space.
“In ten years we will live in a more stratified world, where physical and virtual realities overlap without borders“, we read in the official description accompanying the video.
“If Sony, as creative entertainment companywere to fill the world with new Kando in that future, what kind of experiential value would we need to offer to make that happen?”
“To explore this question, we conducted a prototyping exercise with the concept of ‘Creative Entertainment Vision’. By imagining through the lens of Sony’s creativity and technology, we presented the future as an extension of our lives today.”
The idea of a controller/console with a flying screen it’s clearly pure imagination, but it has a certain charm. For example, it would certainly guarantee a truly minimal weight for this type of device and make portable gaming even more accessible.
Sony’s creative vision in three phases
Sony has explained what its new is creative vision for entertainmentdividing it into three phases:
- Leveraging technology to unleash the creativity of creators around the world, transcending physical, virtual and temporal dimensions.
- Connecting diverse people and values across borders to foster vibrant communities.
- Together with creators, create exciting, narrative-rich experiences that go beyond imagination, and spread them as new touchpoints for Kando around the world.
The concept of “Kando” refers to “the pleasure of creativity and the sensations that derive from the tools that make creation enjoyable.”
Speaking of the future, Naughty Dog wants to “redefine the public’s perception of video games.”
