As we have seen, the PS VR2 PC adapter and the Steam application are available from today, August 7th, at price of 59.99 euros, not exactly modest for what it represents but which could still be a very smart investment for all owners of the Sony visor with a PC capable of running it.
It is a “little box” that allows you to connect PlayStation VR2 to a PC via a DisplayPort 1.4 cable, a USB 3.0 cable, a USB Type-C cable and the power cable.
A big opening towards Steam
By downloading the official app on Steam, the Sony headset can be used on PC to play games Steam titles for virtual reality.
However, this is subject to some limitations, as we have seen.
The system does not support HDR, as well as headset feedback, eye tracking, adaptive triggers, and haptics, all of which are available on PS5 but not on PC through PlayStation VR2.
The others remain valid however characteristics of the headset also on PC games, such as 4K graphics (2000 x 2040 per eye), 110-degree field of view, touch detection and pass-through, as well as foveated rendering (without eye tracking) and 3D audio in supported games.
