Ghost of Yoteithe new game developed by the Sucker Punch Productions studio, has been the big surprise at the State of Play presentation that Sony has organized to present the PlayStation 5 news. This sequel to the popular Ghost of Tsushima It will once again be set in the Japan of the samurai and is expected to go on sale throughout 2025.
The first trailer of Ghost of Yoteiwhich can be seen below, highlights a spectacular staging and a very careful artistic direction. All this, to transport the player to Japan in the year 1603, where they must put themselves in the shoes of a new protagonist named Atsu.
The plot of this new installment will take place more than three hundred years after Ghost of Tsushima and will feature a new region of Japan to explore. Sucker Punch communications manager Andrew Golfarb has shared more details about the plot on the official PlayStation blog.
“The story takes place in the lands surrounding Mount Yotei, a towering peak in the heart of Ezo, an area of Japan now known as Hokkaido. In 1603, this area was outside the rule of Japan and was full of vast grasslands, snowy tundras, and unexpected dangers. “It is a far cry from the organized samurai clans that lived in Tsushima, and is the setting for an original story that we are eager to tell.”
Ghost of Yotei It will be the first game from the American studio developed natively for PlayStation 5, something that will surely be compared to the previous title in terms of production values.
The celebration of Sony’s State of Play digital event has coincided with the start of the Tokyo Game Show, the largest video game fair in Japan that will open its doors this Thursday, September 26.
