Sónar 2025 reveals the first sixty names of its programming

The poster for the 32nd edition of the Sònar Festival in Barcelona, ​​Sonar 2025, is now available, which will take place on June 12, 13 and 14. According to the organization, these are groundbreaking stage proposals and unprecedented artistic collaborations. The organizers have also assured that “the biggest names in club culture will once again make Barcelona the world capital of music, innovation and creativity during Sónar Week next year.”

You can also watch audiovisual shows by Eric Prydz, BICEP, Max Cooper, Daito Manabe and Cora Novoa, as well as four-handed DJ sessions by Skrillex b2b Blawan and Armin van Buuren b2b Indira Paganotto. Additionally, Sonar2025 will feature unpublished shows such as those by Rone with the collective (LA)HORDE and the Ballet National de Marseille, Raül Refree + Niño de Elche, or Dania & Mau Morgó.

As for the live shows, avant-garde artists such as Six Sex, Yerai Cortés, Teto Preto, Tarta Relena, Lord Spikeheart, Maria Arnal, MCR-T, Branko or Samantha Hudson stand out, in addition to the most relevant of the international club culture represented by artists such as DJ Heartstring, Sama’ Abdulhadi, Interplanetary Criminal, Juliana Huxtable, Kebra and many more.

SonarLab and Sónar+D

The visual arts will also be protagonists at Sónar 2025, with the iconic British club Printworks London once again taking control of the SonarLab stage; a never-before-seen collaboration between Actress & Suzanne Ciani curated by Sónar together with the Barbican Center in London.

Additionally, the TIMES cooperative project will continue, featuring unique multidisciplinary shows commissioned alongside other leading European festivals. The 32nd edition of the festival will also hold a special concert on Thursday, June 12 at the Palau de la Música Catalana, with a repertoire of works by Steve Reich and the multi-award-winning composer Raquel García-Tomás.

As for Sónar+D, in 2025 it will reflect on the fundamental role of technology, its social impact and its potential to shape the future of art, entertainment and our lives. The week will open with +RAINa festival co-produced by Sónar together with the Pompeu Fabra University based on cinema generated with AI.

Project Area will also return, the festival’s great meeting point where you can discover and interact with advanced technology, innovative design, radical thinking and cutting-edge research. The Open Call to present projects, prototypes or candidate products to be exhibited in Project Area in 2025. The deadline is Sunday, December 22.

Nathy Peluso leads the programming

The 32nd edition of Sónar invites you to a unique and original life experience through its preview today of more than 60 names, while revealing in a first video its new image, starring a mechanical ballet carried out by heavy machinery.

Leading the musical line up of the next edition is Nathy Peluso, who will present her new album for the first time in Spain Fata powerful work of vindication that has earned her three Latin Grammys and with which the bold Argentine artist continues to elevate relevant genres for Latin music, such as ranchera or tango, to the level of the great electronic stages.


The other main protagonist will be Plastikman, the iconic alter ego by Richie Hawtin, who returns in 2025 with his first show in more than a decade. In his final appearance as Plastikman, Hawtin performed surrounded by an LED structure driven by computerized, syncopated visuals. At Sónar 2025, he will appear trapped inside a malleable and organic object, which beats, grows and collapses in an embryonic fusion of image and sound.


The festival will also allow you to enjoy a series of top-notch audiovisual shows, such as that of the Swedish progressive house superproducer Eric Prydz, the Northern Irish duo BICEP – which presents its new concept CHROMA -, the great dance phenomenon represented by the British Overmono and the national producer Cora Novoa, who presents her latest album live.

For her part, the revered Venezuelan star Arca returns to the festival that has seen her grow to premiere a new show. The British composer Max Cooper will do the same with his next album and the innovative visual proposal ‘Lattice 3D/AV’, as will the Japanese technologist and multidisciplinary researcher Daito Manabe, famous for the use of high technology in his performances.
