Shortly after New Year's Day, actor Christian Oliver died in a plane crash. Markus Söder's daughter knew him personally and is horrified.
Munich – The sudden death of Christian Oliver leaves many of his acquaintances stunned. The actor crashed a private plane on January 4th while flying back from a Caribbean vacation.
His two daughters Annik (10) and Madita (12) as well as the pilot also died in the accident. Friends and relatives are now saying goodbye and sharing their personal stories with Oliver on social networks. Including the eldest daughter of Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder, Gloria-Sophie Burkandt.

She knew the TV star personally and is shocked by his death. “The painful loss of such a loving person leaves deep traces,” said Söder’s daughter in an interview with the Picture. She had recently met Christian Oliver in Los Angeles (USA).
There he is said to have encouraged her to pursue acting. “His promise to always be there for me as a mentor remains indelible in my heart.” Gloria-Sophie Burkandt has no plans to follow in her father’s political footsteps. Instead, she wants to make a name for herself as a model and actress in the future and “hold back politically”. The 24-year-old is currently attending an acting school in New York. In her first film project, a short film she produced, she told the story in the summer a father-daughter drama.

Just two days before the tragic accident, Christian Oliver also used Instagram to share New Year's wishes with his fans: “Greetings from somewhere in paradise! Here’s to community and love… 2024, here we come!” he wrote.
Christian Oliver was particularly known for his role as Chief Inspector Jan Richter in the RTL series “Alarm for Cobra 11 – The Motorway Police”. But he also repeatedly played smaller roles in Hollywood productions. For example, Oliver was seen alongside Tom Cruise in “Speed Racer” and “Operation Valkyrie” and alongside George Clooney in “The Good German – In the Ruins of Berlin”.

Christian Oliver's Cobra 11 colleague Erdogan Atalay shares a photo on Instagram in memory of his co-star. “It is an unbelievable, heartbreaking tragedy. All my thoughts, prayers and condolences go out to his wife and the entire family. I am really shocked and I have no words,” he writes there.
Daniel Harrich, a director and colleague, even has one on social networks initiative shared to collect donations for Christian Oliver's family. (juice/ml)
