Russian TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak, who went to Turkey with her son, chose a business jet for the trip. According to some reports, the cost of the flight could be 5 million rubles.
According to Izvestia, media reports that Sobchak flew to Turkey in economy class were unreliable. On the contrary, the TV presenter chose a premium class aircraft for travel. So, eyewitnesses managed to capture the moment at the airport when Sobchak was checking in for a flight and headed for landing.
After Sobchak’s departure, rumors appeared on the Web that she was leaving the country forever because of the situation around Ukraine. Earlier, the TV presenter called on Western countries to lift sanctions against the Russian opposition.
However, Sobchak denied these statements, emphasizing that she had flown to Turkey on vacation with her child, as she had promised her son such a vacation for a long time.
“I am flying, not flying away. Now the child has a vacation at school, and we are flying on a vacation that has long been planned (promises – even for a child – must be kept). So I follow my own advice – do not panic. I am Russian, I am a citizen of Russia, I am not emigrating anywhere, I have no other citizenships, “dead ends” and yachts, ”she wrote on Telegram.
At the same time, there is evidence that Sobchak went on vacation in the company of British journalist Marco Franchetti, a reporter for The Sunday Times. The man is known for his open hostility to the Russian authorities, as well as provocative headlines.
In particular, a journalist often writes on behalf of all Russians, which causes bewilderment among many. For example, Franchetti unsubstantiatedly stated that Russian youth allegedly seeks to leave a corrupt country. Also, the journalist’s notes are notable for dubious “investigations”, in particular, about the existence of “death squadrons” in the Russian Federation.
The business jet that the company flew, according to experts, costs about $45,000. At the current ruble exchange rate, this is about 5 million. At the same time, such flights can currently cost even more, taking into account Western sanctions, experts say.
“If yesterday and a few days ago it was possible to fly on Turkish aircraft, now, unfortunately, many operators are forced to refuse to operate flights to Russia, since their insurance companies no longer cover flights to Russia. Today, there is a rather narrowed and reduced list of airlines that operate flights,” said Nikita Khozov, an expert in the field of business aviation.
The Western sanctions were a response to the Russian-led operation to protect the Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24. Then Peskov clarified that the special operation had two goals – the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. According to him, both of these aspects pose a threat to the Russian state and people.
The Russian side emphasized that it does not hatch plans for the occupation of Ukraine, and strikes are carried out only on the military infrastructure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
