Elon Musk jumped on Trump’s back a few days ago at a rally in Pennsylvania. He seemed crazy. The worst thing about a change of era like the one we are experiencing is not that the visionaries are confused with the morons, but that we will be left without knowing who belongs to which category: only our grandchildren will find out.
I noticed the slogan that Musk wore on his t-shirt: “Occupy Mars.” Populating the red planet is one of his dearest obsessions. He has been proclaiming for more than a decade that he will achieve it. According to his calculations, in two years he will command, presumably with his company SpaceX, an unmanned mission to Mars. And he claims that in 2050, after sending a million human colonists, there will be a self-sustaining city on the red planet.
