Up to 30 centimeters of fresh snow in April – ASFINAG switches to winter service in Austria

The Austrian motorway and road service appeals to road users to travel “only with winter equipment”, to adjust their speed and to increase the distance to the vehicle in front. ASFINAG warns that wintry road conditions could occur on higher routes. In the west, this is particularly true for the Arlberg Pass, which is the current regional alternative route for traffic between Tyrol and Vorarlberg due to the closure of the Arlberg Tunnel.
