Snooker | Snooker star Ronnie O'Sullivan watched from the sidelines as his opponent hit a historic maximum break

Ronnie O'Sullivan finally advanced to The Masters.

English snooker star Ronnie O'Sullivan made a strong start to China in his first match of the prestigious snooker tournament The Masters Ding Junhui against, but after a while the champion got to watch history being made from the sidelines.

World No. 1 O'Sullivan raced to a 4–0 set lead before Ding woke up. The Chinese, ranked 11th in the world, took the next two sets, i.e. frames, and then we saw the real treat of the match.

Ding cleared the table with a perfect performance, resulting in a maximum break of 147 points.

The maximum break was historic, as Ding is the first player to pull off the trick twice in Masters history. In total, the maximum break was the seventh of the man's career.

However, O'Sullivan was not startled by the shrinking of his lead, but took the next two frames and advanced to the quarterfinals with set wins 6–3. He will face the winner Australia next by Neil Robertson and England Barry Hawkins about the match.
