Jamin Jante Lauri Lepistö has won the cross-country Finnish Cup competition in Vantaa. Suomen Cup leader Lepistö defeated Ville Ahonen With 4.3 seconds in the men’s 10 km race with traditional skiing.
Ahonen, representing the Imatra Athletes, has been selected for the World Cup team in Planica. Another skier of the World Cup team, better progressing with freestyle skiing Remi Lindholm today was the sixth.
In Hakunila, Puijo Ski Club had the third best pace Joonas Sarkkinen. He was 27.1 seconds behind Lepistö’s top pace.
Tomorrow in Vantaa, relays will be skied in the traditional way. Men’s distance is 3×7.5 kilometers, women’s 3×5 kilometers.
Women’s was the fastest on the other hand Anni Alakoski. Alakoski held a 12.6-second lap in the traditional ten-kilometer race Vilma Nissinen and with a difference of 17.7 seconds Anni Kainulainen.
