Sinner, Panatta-Bertolucci: show phone call between Jannik and the goose farm
Jannik Sinner's triumph at the Australian Open was commented by Adriano Panatta and Paolo Bertolucci in a phone call by Fandango on Spotify. The two unforgettable champions of Italian tennis (winners of Davis Cup in 1976 with Corrado Barazzutti And Tonino Zugarelli) as always they put on a show with Bertolucci who towards the end of the chat explained: “I have to go and check the geese in a few minutes”. Panatta immediately joked: “Do you also clean goose poo?”. And Bertolucci: “No, not those, I'll leave them there as they're good for you.” Panatta attacks: “But you raise them and then eat the geese too?”. Bertolucci: “Of course always.” And Panatta: “But you're really a s…”.

Jannik Sinner triumphs at the Australian Open 2024, the phone call between Adriano Panatta and Paolo Bertolucci
Paolo Bertolucci: “Are you there or are you toasting? I screamed a few times in my life. Too beautiful, too enjoyable and then brought home like this, 2-0 down, starting badly, then little by little it hooked him. In the first two sets the other played at a level that was close to perfection, but little by little the boy, and in the end he became the one who has the most attributes and from that point of view, many get hurt playing with him.”
Adriano Panatta: “Completely wrong discussion. Now I'll explain it to you. The Russian started playing against his nature, you also said this yesterday I have to say… the only right thing you said in 15 days, anticipating, attacking, not giving time. Sinner needs that tenth of a second to move and take aim, when he has to play a bit of instinct becomes less strong. If now I said the legendary phrase: “I have never had the slightest doubt”, it wasn't really so, however, I was convinced that he had many chances to come back and win the match. First because I didn't believe that Medvedev could continue at that pace for two and a half, three hours. And in fact then it showed and Sinner had more time to get back into ball. But having said that, when I saw Sinner enter the court, I had Anna, my wife, next to me, I said: 'He doesn't have the same face as he had with Djokovic', he was almost in a bad mood, when he enters he is always serene, it's never like that, it also made me see him as a little more human.
Paolo Bertolucci: “Today his arm also flowed a little less, his feet were a little less reactive, but then when it comes to arm wrestling it's better for the others to move aside. In the end it was really embarrassing. The other one was really … he didn't have any left, he shot five or six straight shots on the run, crazy stuff and even the last game which seemed like 'Oh God now a moment of fear, of hesitation, 30-30', he shot down two Crazy refrigerators, phenomenal.” Big, big, big.”
Adriano Panatta: “He is a great champion, I don't know if he will ever reach Djokovic's 24, but he will win many trophies and will remain in the history of world tennis.”
Paolo Bertolucci: “This is the first great day, after the Davis Cup, individually, but there will be many. And he will be able to stop Italy like in great football matches”:
Adriano Panatta: “He is a great export product of our country because he is a good guy, intelligent, modest, serene when he talks to the press.”
