WSJ: Jazzman Harry Connick Jr. sells Cape Cod mansion for $12.5 million
American jazz musician, singer and actor Harry Connick Jr. has decided to get rid of his five-bedroom mansion on the Cape Cod Peninsula. He valued his possessions at 12.5 million dollars (1.1 billion rubles), writes Wall Street Journal.
Almost 20 years have passed since the purchase of this house. In 2006, Connick and his wife paid $5.3 million for it. The plot occupies half a hectare, and the area of the estate itself is close to 500 square meters. The estate was built in the 60s on a steep cliff – since then the couple have updated all the rooms in the house, including the kitchen, living room and master bedroom, in which Connick Jr. found inspiration for creating new compositions. French doors and double-hung windows provide ocean views from every room in the home. from almost every room in the house. The exterior is designed in a colonial style, and the interior decoration creates a feeling of unity between old and new – pine floors are combined with wooden elements in the decor. The yard features a pool and pond, and a boat ramp leads to a private dock.
Connick Jr. is a renowned crooner and has been recognized by his idol, Frank Sinatra. “Mr. Blue Eyes” thought him as his favorite. Earlier, his former townhouse in New York was put up for sale for the first time in half a century. The house is asking $4.5 million.
