Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone hinted that the reason for the lack of Griezmann’s participation in the team is due to conditions related to the buy-back process in his loan contract.
Griezmann is spending the middle of his two-year loan from Barcelona, ​​but reports have said that the player’s participation in more than 45 minutes will make his loan permanent.
While Griezmann played 21 games for the team last season, scoring three goals and adding four assists to his teammates, his role in the new season with Atletico was reduced.
The 31-year-old starred in three matches he participated in as a substitute this season, scoring two goals but only playing 82 minutes in the Spanish League.
In response to the question about Griezmann’s participation and whether this is in accordance with the club’s policy, Simeone said: “They have known me for ten years, I played here and I am the man of this club.”
He added, “We must try to make the players understand that playing 30 minutes well is better and more important than playing 60 minutes badly.”
