Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone enjoys watching Manchester City and knows that the Spanish side will have to be at their best to beat England in the Champions League quarter-finals.
The Argentine coach said in a press conference today, Monday, on the eve of the first-leg match against Pep Guardiola’s team: I enjoyed watching Manchester City matches a lot. What I like the most about teams like Manchester City is the effort they put in trying to get the ball back and keep possession. I am so happy to see them. It makes me so happy to watch players of this quality fight for every ball. This is what all coaches want.
Simeone is not worried about Atletico playing the first leg away before hosting the return match at home in front of their fans, because the battle is long and we first have to make sure we do what is necessary in Manchester.
Simeone also does not see any advantage in facing another opponent from the English Premier League after beating Manchester United in the last 16.
Simeone said: “United has a different nature compared to City. City are a more centralized team and have possession of the ball most of the matches. We have to play better and improve everything we did a couple of weeks ago against United to have a chance.
