A Podium Room Full of Laughs
Landon Norris won the Singapore GP, breaking the curse of the first lap. This time he maintained the lead of the race after the lights went out and was always the leader of the race. The McLaren driver only lacked the fastest lap, but the balance could have been much worse by a matter of centimetres.
In fact, on two occasions, Lando Norris hit the barriers of the Marina Bay circuit. The first time was the most dangerous where he also slightly damaged the front wing, a ‘kiss’ to the barriers at the braking point of Turn-14 that did not cost the replacement of the aerodynamic appendage. The second contact was with the right rear before Turn-10, the same point where George Russell ended up out of the race a year ago. To complete the list of risks there was also a long one while overtaking Franco Colapinto at the last chicane.
In the podium room, the first thrill was obviously the subject of discussion between Lando Norris, Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri. “What did you think at that moment? Without swearing“Piastri asked Norris while pretending to hold a microphone and be a journalist.
“That I was funky“ Norris’s response to get around the swear word. “You could have released the brake”Verstappen joked that he would have obtained an unexpected victory in the event of heavy contact with the barriers for Norris. “I shit myself”Norris admitted, this time using a swear word.
