Keep.- The virtual president-elect, Claudia Sheinbaum, sent a collaborator to Coahuila to care for the family of Ernestina Cerda Mireles, 94 years old, who died in a car accident involving her entourage.
In an interview, upon leaving the supervision of the new ISSSTE hospital in Torreón, Sheinbaum indicated that his emissary, whose name he did not reveal, will assist the family “in everything they require.”
“Well, first of all, I regret the death of the person. There is a colleague of mine from a long time ago who is now with the families,” he revealed on board his vehicle.
“He came from Mexico to be able to accompany them, assist them in everything they need, in addition to what the government of Mexico and the Government of Coahuila are doing,” he reported.
Sheinbaum added that, in the case of the members of his team who were injured in the accident in Monclova, one of them required an operation and “fortunately it turned out well.”
On Friday, while heading from Monterrey to Sabinas to lead an event together with AMLO – the first since her victory – a vehicle from the convoy accompanying her collided with another car on the Monclova-Candela highway.
Ernestina Cerda, who was co-pilot in one of the vehicles, died, and several people were injured, including the victim’s daughter and several members of Sheinbaum’s team.
Upon noticing the crash, the next president stopped, got out of her truck and observed the rescue efforts for several minutes, before continuing on her way to the coal region.
Asked about her tour with AMLO, she said that it is going “very well” and, for the second time that day, she refused to comment on Morena’s survey on the Judiciary.
“Now, now, now, see you on Monday,” he concluded.
‘Very impressive all the work’
Sheinbaum supervised together with López Obrador what will be the new Regional High Specialty Hospital of the ISSSTE, in Torreón.
“Very impressed with the work they have been doing at the ISSSTE,” she said as she left the headquarters amid complaints from a woman who accused the union of taking over positions.
