Children of different age groups gather in the “Sharjah Public Libraries” pavilion, where the 15th session of the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival opens its doors to a world full of creativity and learning, in which the vision of libraries is reflected in providing an educational and entertaining space that develops awareness and knowledge among young people, through workshops that address topics A variety of courses that enhance their critical thinking skills and open up opportunities for them to learn about the secrets of the universe and its creatures.
Libraries offer activities that encourage the development of motor skills, in addition to reading aloud sessions, which are an enriching experience for children. The pavilion does not miss innovative workshops that allow children to highlight their creative abilities, and literary exploration trips that take them into the space of imagination through creative writing and building their worlds. Special stories, which prepares them to be future writers.
The “Silent Book” workshop is distinguished by its ability to open the doors of imagination through drawings and pictures that tell stories in a rich visual language, allowing children to interpret the story in their own style without the need for written words.
As for the “Digital Mindfulness” workshop, it works to guide children towards using video games consciously and responsibly. Through the showing of a short film and practical workshops, children learn how to deal with the virtual world safely, and the importance of being careful when talking to strangers over the Internet is highlighted.
The “Creative Writing Stations” workshop takes children on a journey through five practical stations, including: the “I Read” station, the “I Observe” station, the “I Think” station, the “I Plan” station, and the “I Design” station. At each station, children learn how to read and discuss stories in depth, and are encouraged to apply what they have learned in practical workshops that develop their creative skills.
For fans of the “Dragon Ball” and “Grandizer” stories, the “Super Hero” workshop is an exciting adventure for children who dream of the world of superheroes, where they learn how to create their own superhero characters that carry strong and distinctive messages through vibrant comic stories.
While in the “Bee Dripping Wax” workshop, children discover the wondrous world of bees, draw lessons from bees in mastery and creativity, develop their fine motor skills, and explore the cultural and historical importance of beeswax in various cultures of the world.
While the “Creative Personality Laboratory” workshop provides an interactive experience that helps children explore themselves and their responsibilities towards themselves, their families, and their country, and motivates them to be creative and inspiring others, through inspiring questions that reflect their personalities.
As for the “Artistic Story” workshop, it provides participants with an opportunity to learn the theoretical and artistic basics of the oud instrument. While the “From the Heart of the Desert” workshop takes them on an exploratory journey about sustainability and the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him.
