At the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show, the Hyundai Seven drives under the spotlight, an electric SUV that will enter production as Ioniq 7. Still, if the South Korean constructor continues the line of the 2019 45 Concept and the 2020 Prophecy Concept, which form the basis for the Ioniq 5 and the soon-to-be-expected Ioniq 6. We expect the production version of the Hyundai Ioniq 7 in 2024.
Driving range and charging options
Little is said about the technical specifications of the Hyundai Seven Concept, only that it is an electric powertrain that promises a driving range of 485 kilometers. Just like the Ioniq 5, this SUV comes with an 800V system so that you can quickly charge at 350 kW.
The bodywork also speaks the now well-known design language. The Hyundai Seven Concept has an angular SUV design with the so-called Prametric Pixel lighting. On the left the Seven stops at a door to get in, on the right you count two doors that open centrally and give you easy access to the interior. Also note the darkened rear huge rear window. Curious what will remain of this in the final production version, although Hyundai defends an excellent reputation in that area.
Self-propelled salon
The Hyundai Seven Concept builds on the modular E-GMP platform that Hyundai developed for electric vehicles. The SUV has a wheelbase of 3.2 meters and has a completely flat floor, so that the lounge interior could be furnished as a moving salon.
So don’t look for two or three rows of seats, the Hyundai Seven sticks to two swivel armchairs and a sitting area. Because yes, thanks to the autonomous driving technology, a driver is not really necessary. Even driving is possible, but then you have to conjure up the steering wheel first. After all, it is hidden in the armrest.
Durable and hygienic
The interior of the Hyundai Seven Concept combines sustainable materials such as bamboo and tree resin with the so-called Hygiene Airflow system. That pumps the air from top to bottom, while it is cleaned via UVC light and antibacterial substances so that Covid-19 and other viruses are removed from the ether. The occupants do not have to wear a mouth mask, no.
The panoramic roof of the Hyundai Seven Concept comes with mood lighting, while the interior has a special space for your shoes in addition to a refrigerator, you have to take care of the checkered slippers yourself. The dashboard has a minimalist design and comes with fold-out displays that show the desired information, whether or not via projection. And so we could go on and on.
