Catalonia preserves designs of routes that remember historical episodes, from late prehistory to Civil war. A good option to remember, remember or connect with this story is to refollow these traverses who also have trepitjat historical figures, who form part of the collective imagination. Route through the trinxeres of the Battle of l’Ebre

Route through the old town of Corbera d’Ebre
We are not moving from Terra Alta. Corbera d’Ebre preserves part of what will be the abans village of the bombardment by the Franco troops during the Civil War. Located at the foot of the Montera tower, in the center of the ancient war front, near the streets and houses in the runes of Poble Vell are a mutual testimony of the violence and brutal consequences of the war. To travel there is to return to the summer of ’38, when the German air force and Franco’s artillery were going to destroy the town.
Camí dels Bons Homes (GR 107)
The Camí dels Bons Homes is a classic of Catalonia, which allows the hiker to enter medieval history. One of the routes of the Cathars who are exiled from the south of France to the Castell de Montsegur, in French lands, and finally arrive at the sanctuary of Queralt, in Berga (Berguedà). Ara, the route is the GR 107 trail, which can be reached on foot or by bicycle.
If we follow the Camí dels Bons Homes we will be able to see the beauty of the spectacular Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park. In this area the Pedraforca stands out: the two peaks separated by a large col are iconic of the territory.
The distance of the hike is 200 km and it is expected that it can be completed by beginner hikers in 9-10 days. The tour trepitja the regions of Alt Urgell, Berguedà, Cerdanya, Solsonès. The most notable points of interest are Rasos de Peguera, Gósol, Pedraforca, Bagà, Bellver de Cerdanya, Prullans.
The coves of l’Espluga
The caves of l’Espluga de Francolí (Conca de Barberà) ens lay down a prehistoric passat to the various human communities that convisqueren in a material internal to the thousands of people. A 600-meter walk through the underground cavity to understand the geological formation and human evolution.
It is made up of natural cavitations used by the home since the Paleolithic era. The museum is located here, and we will be participants in its history, both in the discovery of the Cova, as well as in the activities carried out by humans and their most intense feelings.
The Vilars d’Arbeca fortress
Arbeca (Garrigues) preserves an exceptional archaeological ensemble, initially inhabited by the Ilergets tribe. Located at the north-west end of the terme, four kilometers from Arbeca, it is part of an ancient fortress built in the 8th century BC, since the entire built surface corresponds to a defensive system in the form of two towers. In addition to visiting, it also offers a set of experiences, with tastings of Arbequina olives, one of the most precious olive varieties in the world.
Megalithic route to Roses
Roses offers a 4.5 kilometer circular itinerary to visit some of the prehistoric constructions most emblematic of the Empordà, with the dolmen of the Creu d’en Cobertella or the dolmen and menhir of the Casa Cremada. The itinerary begins at the edge of the town of Roses and runs through the Cap de Creus Natural Park.
The Cistercian Route
This 105 km route can be done either on foot or by bicycle, as well as on foot. The route of the Cistercian Route allows you to admire the rich cultural and historical heritage of this inland area in the heart of nature, indrets, landmarks but also the wines and caves, the territory and the heritage. It is that it involves the regions of l’Alt Camp, Conca de Barberà i l’Urgell and its six 65 municipalities, in a tourist proposal created in 1989.
