Serena Bortone challenges Rai and reads Scurati's monologue
Antonio Scurati's monologue on April 25 blocked by Rai was however read live by Serena Bortone, who challenged the leaders by proposing the writer's text on Liberation Day.
“As you probably know, a monologue on April 25th by Antonio Scurati was scheduled for this evening but it won't be there. Last night I accidentally discovered that the contract with Scurati had been canceled – explained the journalist who had already reported the incident on Instagram – I spent the whole evening calling, and sending messages and emails but I couldn't get any explanation. So I called Scurati to explain to him that I didn't know anything about it.”
The presenter, therefore, denied the version provided by Rai and also by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, namely that the agreement was canceled due to an economic problem: “Since I have read imaginative and offensive reconstructions, I specify that Scurati's reaction was to give me the text written for us, authorizing me to read it: which I will now do.”

Serena Bortone then read the text which concluded: “Until that word – anti-fascism – is pronounced by those who govern us, the specter of fascism will continue to haunt the house of Italian democracy”.
