Ninja Theory, one of the Xbox Game Studios teams, recently published a new tweet in which it shows off the photo mode of his upcoming cinematic action game, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2.
In the short video that you can find in the tweet below – in which Ninja Theory writes “Virtual photographers, take a look at some of the features available for photography mode in Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II.” – we can see what some of the functions we will have available and we can also see the result of some changes that players will be able to apply before taking a photograph.
The video opens with a gameplay scene during which the protagonist of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is fighting against a masked humanoid armed with a bone club. After a few slashes, the player pauses and interrupts the fight while Senua is with the weapon raised behind her back and ready to deliver the final blow to the opponent.
The possibilities of Hellblade 2’s photography mode
In the video we see that There are many options availableas for the management of the camera (speed, angle of view, exposure, temperature and tint), as well as the focus (depth of field, focal distance, focus method…), management of the effects (setting those in real time , changing Senua’s health level and how this affects her model) and more.
However, one of the most useful options could be the management of light sources. In the paused scene there is no strong light illuminating the scene, because in the clash the light is intermittent. However, it is not a problem because it is possible to modify the lighting by defining the point of origin of the light, the color and many other elements, such as fog management and more.
Recall that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will be available on PC and Xbox Series X|S from May 21, 2024. The game will obviously be available on Game Pass and according to some rumors Microsoft is also considering its arrival on PS5.
