Colombian footballer Sebastián Villa is trying to put behind him the bad times he experienced due to his own mistakes. A conviction for gender violence in Argentina forced him out of Boca Juniors.
According to the criteria of
The justice system in that country sentenced the former Deportes Tolima player to “2 years and one month in prison for being the author of aggravated minor injuries and for using gender violence and coercive threats” to Daniela Cortés, his ex-partner, for events that occurred in 2020. The sentence was non-imprisonable because he was under three years old.
Villa is also facing a second trial for sexual abuse. However, Támara Doldán, the alleged victim of the incident, withdrew the complaint and reached a financial agreement with the footballer, as compensation. However, the case is still ongoing.
After being removed from Boca Juniors for his conviction, Villa went to play for Beroe in Bulgaria and in July of this year he returned to Argentina to play for Independiente Rivadavia de Mendoza.
In the face of strong criticism over the signing of the Colombian, the president of Independiente Rivadavia, Daniel Vila, defended him: “Villa earns his living playing football, no one can be denied a second chance in life, much less to work,” he declared at the time.
This is how Sebastián Villa announced that he will be a father
Villa now has a new partner, also Colombian, named Caroline Ospina, a dentist by profession. And this Sunday, both announced on their social networks that they are going to be parents.
“Every moment together becomes even more magical knowing that soon there will be three of us. Thank you for being my life partner and for this love that grows every day. We can’t wait to meet our little miracle!” Ospina wrote in a post that Villa also shared.
“Thank you for being there during my worst moments and helping me become a better person every day,” the player replied.
