On Saturday, several different emergency rockets and emergency flares will be fired at Jolla in Helsinki. This is an exercise, so there is no need to report any missile sightings to the authorities.
Saturday An emergency signaling exercise is underway in Jolla, Helsinki, between March 5 and 5 pm, says the Helsinki Maritime Rescue Association.
About 300 boaters are expected to take part in the exercise, during which red parachute rockets, ie so-called emergency rockets, will be fired. Red hand torches, orange smoke, pen rockets and light pistol ammunition will also be used during the exercise.
According to the Helsinki Sea Rescue Association, some of the rockets may rise to a height of more than 300 meters.
The exercise is organized by the Helsinki Sea Rescue Association together with the Espoo Sea Rescuers and the Laajasalo VPK.
Because this is an exercise, the related emergency missile observations do not need to be reported to the authorities.
Exercises are recommended for all boaters. They allow boaters to practice the use of emergency signaling equipment safely. In this way, they can be used in an emergency without endangering oneself or others.
However, the use of emergency rockets must not be practiced on your own. Their use is allowed only in real distress or official training sessions.
On Monday On March 7, testing of the population alert system is due. This is a monthly routine test.
