Development studio Rare has announced that Sea of Thieves passed the 40 million players worldwide, between copies sold and accesses from Game Pass, Microsoft's subscription service.
To give voice to the joy for this renewed success, currently playable on PC and Xbox consoles, it was executive producer Joe “Three Sheets” Neate, who took the opportunity to thank everyone, including the community that has supported the game over all these years, even in the most difficult times. How could we forget the problematic launch that almost killed the game? Then, fortunately, Rare did a great recovery job, making Sea of Thieves one of the most exciting live services on the market.
A growing success
The occasion was also excellent to remember the imminent arrival of Season 12which will add the ability to throw knives and which will greatly renew the game with the Bone Caller.
Obviously he didn't fail to mention the upcoming PS5 version, which will be available starting from April 30th and which is already registering many pre-orders, a sign that even PlayStation players can't wait to be able to experience a nice pirate adventure, like the rest demonstrated by the excellent reactions to the closed beta.
