Sabotage Studio has announced a new popularity milestone achieved by Sea of Starshis indie “JRPG” which has evidently been a great success, having exceeded 5 million players in the world and thus giving the opportunity to celebrate with the next launch of a cooperative multiplayer mode.
Although the genre perhaps does not normally lend itself to this interpretation, the team wanted to try a new path to allow players to experience the story of Sea of Stars even in company: a multiplayer mode will therefore be launched, presented with the trailer shown below .
This is a 3-player cooperative multiplayer game offlinei.e. with shared screen and in person, which is very interesting.
From the first teaser trailer it is not yet clear exactly what changes with this mode, but it is clear that the three players will be able to use as many characters and move them independently within the same screen, with a system that moves the characters who remain behind through a automatic repositioning.
Will there be changes to the gameplay?
For the rest, it is not yet known what changes there may be to the gameplaybeyond probable influences on the combat system, which will have to include input from three different players.
The new mode is called “Single Player+“, to make it clear that it is essentially an evolution of the standard single-play mode with the addition of other users within the same game. At this point we are waiting for more precise communications on details and launch date, while we remember release date and prices of physical editions, as well as our review of Sea of Stars.
