Berlin / Munich – Despite all previous measures: The corona risk in Germany remains unchecked. If new resolutions to contain the pandemic are announced at the next summit on Thursday, children and young people could also be affected.
Similar to last year, schools are about to close in order to reduce the infection rate in younger age groups. In the discussion about measures against the fourth corona wave *, Greens boss Robert Habeck also spoke out in favor of extended Christmas holidays, while the first federal states have already moved the start of the holiday a few days forward.
Corona in Germany: disagreement about new resolutions for schools and daycare centers
In addition to the Leopoldina Academy, the Union parliamentary group leader in the Bundestag recently spoke out in favor * of allowing the holidays to start a week or two earlier everywhere. Nationwide, that would mean that children would probably stay at home the week before Christmas Eve (it will be a Friday in 2021).
