After the disappointment of the Olympics, Becky Downie had to end her career.
Scaffolding gymnast Becky Downie said he was “burnt out” but proud to have started his competition at the World Rack Gymnastics Championships in Japan.
Downney, one of the world’s leaders in scaffolding, has had a difficult year during which her brother died.
Downie, 29, was dropped from the British Olympic team in the summer in a stirring manner. It raised suspicions that dropping out of the team would have been some kind of punishment for telling his sister Ellie Downien with the public about the culture of bullying gymnastics bullying.

Downne was given an extra test, but was left out of the Olympic team by the electorate.
Downie however, showed perseverance by returning to compete in the World Cup in Kitakyushu.
“People don’t even realize how much this has required me to get to Japan,” a silver medalist in the 2019 World Cup multi-level trees, said news agency AFP.
“I feel really burned out. I wanted to come and compete for myself. I have worked for two years and I have not had the opportunity to show my skills. ”
Downie scored 14,000 with different level trees and 13,333 with boom in the World Cup qualifiers. He said he was “really proud” of his performance, even though he felt “mentally tired”.
Downien in July 2020, the siblings spoke publicly about a “culture of fear and mental bullying” in British scaffolding.
They issued a bulletin at the time in which they shared their experiences of being bullied. Ellie spoke of, among other things, the attention paid to her weight, “who had left incurable scars”.
The siblings said that mental violence among the species is so common that it has not even been able to question it. They said many girls have drifted into eating disorders and experienced mental health problems as a result of an unhealthy species culture.
The BBC revealed last year that it had read emails in which parents of gymnasts had expressed concern about alleged abuses a year earlier.
According to Becky Down, returning to the UK World Cup team was not easy, but he said he had done “too much work and was too good to give up”.
“I still don’t accept the decisions made,” Downie said of dropping out of the Olympic team.
“I had to decide whether to end my career or continue.”
