The World Superbike starting grid for 2025 is starting to take more and more shape and this time it is BMW that is defining its plans: Michael van der Mark has also renewed for the next season, thus renewing his confidence for the fifth consecutive year. The Dutchman will join the already confirmed Toprak Razgatliolu, for a complete line-up, at least as regards the official lineup.
It was with van der Mark that BMW achieved its first success since returning in an official capacity, in Portimao in 2021 the Dutchman triumphed in particular conditions, reaching the podium on three other occasions. The Gouda native has had a complicated journey in his time with the Monaco manufacturer, characterized by injuries that kept him away from racing for a long time.
“I am very, very happy and honored to continue with BMW,” says Michael van der Mark speaking about the renewal with the German brand. “I am really happy that, especially after the two difficult years, they still have faith in me and I believe that the results this year show improvements. I’m very happy with how the team works, how the BMW M 1000 RR works and how we are still improving it. So it’s great to be able to stay I’m ready to continue building our momentum and be even more ready for next year.”
Marc Boners, BMW Motorrad Motorsport Director, also expresses his enthusiasm for the Dutchman’s confirmation: “We are very happy to have Toprak Razgatlioglu and Michael van der Mark, two top-level riders, in our factory team for the 2025 Superbike World Championship Both have proven in recent years that they belong to the best and will form a powerful duo on our BMW M 1000 RR next season.”
