The young Argentine rider crashed on Friday during free practice for the Interlagos round, but the rescue and treatment were to no avail: “The Superbike Brasil organization has been providing full assistance to the rider’s family since Friday (14/6), when the Argentine crashed during the first free practice session of the Jr Cup, valid for the 4th round of the SuperBike Brasil, at the Interlagos Autodrome. As soon as he fell at the Pinheirinho exit, the rider was promptly assisted on site by the medical team in an intensive care ambulance.”
“He was then taken to the circuit’s emergency room, where his condition was stabilised. After this procedure, he was transported to an advanced support unit (mobile intensive care) at Pedreira General Hospital, where he remained until the early hours of Saturday morning (June 15), following all medical protocols until he was transferred to Albert Einstein Hospital. All members of the SuperBike Brasil team are saddened by what happened and express their sincere condolences to all of Lorenzo’s family and friends,” the statement concludes.
