The Misano round of the Superbike World Championship was not the most fruitful in terms of victories, but Ducati can close the fourth round of the season with a smile. In fact, on Sunday in Romagna the agreement was reached which extends the relationship between the Borgo Panigale manufacturer and Aruba.
This was confirmed by Mauro Grassilli, present at Misano to follow the production derivatives. The sporting director of Ducati Corse made the announcement live on Sky Sport, making the extension of the agreement official for another two years: “I’m here in Misano to follow the Superbike races and also to talk to Stefano Cecconi. I can inform you that this morning we have renewed for the next two years with Aruba.”
If the team that wins doesn’t change, the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team will still be a certainty in the production-derived world championship. This confirms a long-standing collaboration, which began in 2015 and will continue until at least 2026: “We are very happy, because this is an adventure that has lasted a long time,” said Grassilli. Stefano Cecconi, boss of Aruba, echoes this: “We are very satisfied with having reached the agreement with Ducati. I am excited to continue together this path that we started years ago.”
With the team’s future plans clarified, it’s now time to focus on the driver market, which sees Alvaro Bautista at the center of attention. Does it continue or stop? It’s still not clear and no one feels they are in a hurry, but the dialogue has begun. “We started talking to Alvaro because we would like to keep him with us next year too. This is our desire, we will see how the evolution will be”, concludes Grassilli.
