Ciudad Juarez.- With a ribbon cutting and excitement over the recovered space, the ‘B1’ Building of the Institute of Architecture, Design and Art (IADA) was inaugurated at the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez (UACJ), the construction that renews the concept of learning for the areas of mechanics, chemistry and innovation in clean energy.
This is a 992 square meter space that doubles its previous use in a demolished area of 412 square meters that consists of a lobby, mechanics laboratory, testing area, chemical warehouse, scales area, solar cell laboratory, coordination office, five classrooms, toilets, elevator, emergency staircase, LED lighting and state-of-the-art automated climate control.
Previously, the UACJ reported, a warehouse was being built in the space where the physics and photography laboratories and some offices were located, with sheet materials.
“Today, thanks to the investment of 33 million 435 thousand 874 pesos in construction, furniture and equipment, we can present a completely different scenario,” said Ignacio Camargo Nassar, rector of the UACJ.
During the inauguration, the university representative spoke of the efforts and changes in the space due to the educational demand of this border, an investment that validates the intention of integrating students into the best spaces.
“Here at the UACJ, we have worked and combined actions to provide sufficient resources to have this work that is added to this building,” he said.
“I invite you to visit it and enjoy its facilities; it is the continuation of the objectives of this community, which is the improvement of the spaces that an excellent education requires,” he added.
As part of the welcome ceremony for new students, the basketball court next to building B1 was also inaugurated, so students, teachers and university authorities took an extensive tour to see the new facilities.
