The State Attorney General “has done his job, what he had to do, pursue the criminal and combat misinformation and a hoax.” With these words, the President of the Government directly supported this Thursday, Pedro Sanchezto Alvaro Garcia Ortiz after the investigation opened by the Supreme Court for alleged revelation of secrets.
In a press conference held at the end of the European Council in BrusselsSánchez has defended García Ortiz. “I believe that the Government has expressed itself from the first moment in a clear and emphatic manner. We respect the Supreme Court but we support the action of the Prosecutor,” he said.
The leader of the Executive wanted to highlight that the origin of the Prosecutor’s situation is that the chief of staff (Miguel Angel Rodriguez) of the president of the Community of Madrid, “the then partner of this criminal, spreads a hoax and misinformation to place the lie on the side of the Prosecutor’s Office.”
Sánchez has entered the melee with Isabel Diaz Ayuso and he has pointed out that in political terms what needs to be asked is “when the PP is going to ask him for responsibilities and explanations” for his partner’s affairs, Alberto González Amadorwhom he has described as a “confessed criminal.”
The President of the Government has stressed that González has enriched during the pandemichas defrauded the Treasury “and presumably the Madrid president may have benefited from that situation.”
“What we need is for Feijóo to demand responsibility from his boss, which can be no other than resignation,” Sánchez continued.
