Sánchez builds bridges with the barons and invites them to a lunch before closing the new management

There is no Federal Congress of the PSOE without territorial tension. The 41st one held this weekend in Seville will open the process of replacement in the leadership of various territories and it shows. Some, like Juan Espadas, host of the conclave, vindicate themselves with endless interventions. And others sneak among the delegates to go unnoticed. Everyone is waiting for their congressional processes to open and for Pedro Sánchez to issue signals as to who will be those anointed by Ferraz. There is expectation.

Once the doubt has been dispelled in Madrid, where Óscar López seems to be the sole candidate, after the resignation of Juan Lobato, the mystery remains open in Andalusia, where the federal management is in favor of the continuity of Espadas, but there will surely be an alternative list. In Castilla y León, the mayor of Soria emerges as a favorite against a Tudanca, willing to stand up. In Extremadura the possibility of change is diluted while in La Rioja the replacement of Concha Andreu will be fought with a single candidacy. The Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands will continue with Armengol and Torres at the helm, while in Aragon Minister Pilar Alegría is expected to confirm in the coming days her willingness to run in the primaries in which Lambán’s change will be resolved.

If there is a territory foreign to all this, it is Catalonia, converted with Salvador Illa in the Generalitat into a true oasis of Spanish socialism. Catalonia, as its first secretary says, has returned and has done so as a bastion of organic stability that is not currently seen in other Communities.

Pedro Sánchez has taken advantage of the 41st Federal Congress to build bridges with all of them and has called them to a lunch this Saturday – “standing snacks”, the organization clarifies “- prior to the development of the new direction that will accompany the general secretary in his fourth term. It is nothing more than a gesture with which he seeks to take the temperature of the Federal Congress and listen to their opinions on the “judicial siege” of which the Government feels like a victim.

It will be in the afternoon-night of today when the President of the Government also configures the new team, where the continuity of María Jesús Montero, Santos Cerdán and their hard core is taken for granted. However, the incorporation of fresh socialists from different federations is expected, who are not yet known but who will not arouse much interest beyond the percentage they represent of the territorial quota.
