Immediately after scoring the 1-1 goal in the match against Salernitana, Genoa striker Mateo Retegui was grazed on the left ear by… a snack thrown onto the pitch by the home team's fans. At the moment of the celebration, the Italian-Argentine center forward collapsed to the ground holding the affected part with his hand: fortunately the accident did not create any type of problem for the Genoa player, who immediately returned to playing without the need for doctors' intervention. Referee Orsato also had to remove other objects from the field that had fallen from the curve, including a piece of concrete. The reaction of the Genoa players was to immediately go and calm down the Salernitana corner, asking the fans for calm. Midfielder Kevin Strootman, after trying to calm things down with Vasquez, collects the snack that fell from the corner, discards it and eats it.

Salernitana-Genoa 1-2, Gudmundsson's penalty decides
Salernitana is unable to rise from last place in the standings even on the twenty-first matchday of Serie A: with Genoa as guests at Arechi they finish 1-2, 12 points in the championship and now Pippo Inzaghi's bench is wobbling. The Ligurians, on the other hand, move to eleventh place in the standings with the same points as Monza, twelfth at 25, today stopped by a surprising Empoli who won 3-0.
