Lieutenant-General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, headed the UAE delegation that participated in the 38th meeting of Their Highnesses and Excellencies Ministers of Interior of the Gulf Cooperation Council, which was held in the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain yesterday.
The meeting, in the presence of Their Highnesses and Excellencies, Ministers of Interior of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, discussed a number of issues related to strengthening Gulf security and the existing projects in order to enhance these efforts to advance the process of joint Gulf security cooperation in the GCC states, and the importance of the joint tactical exercise of the security services in the GCC states “Gulf Security” Al-Arabi 3», the technical security link, and a number of specialized technical issues and reports submitted by the undersecretaries of the ministries of interior in the council.
General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived in Bahrain yesterday. His Highness was received by General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior of the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr. Nayef Falah Al-Hajraf, Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, and a number of officials. .
In addition to His Highness, the UAE delegation included Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the country’s ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Inspector General of the Ministry, and Major General Sheikh Mohammed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Director of the Security Affairs Sector. And the ports of Abu Dhabi Police, Brigadier General Dr. Rashid Sultan Al Khader, Director General of Legal Affairs, Brigadier Dr. Jamal Saif Fares, Brigadier Ahmed Al Marar from the Court of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Lt. Colonel Dana Al Marzouqi, Director General of the International Affairs Office, and a number of officers.
Lieutenant-General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, and General H.E. Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior of the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain, signed a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Interior of the United Arab Emirates and the Bahraini Ministry of Interior in the areas of enhancing technical cooperation and exchanging experiences. Between the two countries in the areas of cyber security and ways to combat cybercrime.
The memorandum of understanding aims to enhance the capabilities of the two countries in combating cyber-attacks and cyber-security and ways to mitigate their negative effects and enhance cooperation in the field of innovation and information technology through the exchange of experiences, best practices, information, data and training courses and benefit from the expertise of each side in order to achieve the interests of the two brotherly countries.
The signing ceremony of the memorandum of understanding was attended by the delegation accompanying the team, His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his wishes for continued safety and prosperity for the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and the countries of the world at large. His Highness affirmed the joint efforts to enhance the security and stability of societies, in order to achieve the hopes and aspirations of the leaders and peoples of the region. His Highness expressed his thanks to the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain for the hospitality.
