Sacyr Agua and Ferrovial, through Ferrovial Construction and Cadagua, will expand and operate the Águilas desalination plant (Murcia) for four years, with a possible extension of one more.
The project, with a value of 51.5 million euros, will make this plant the second largest in Spain, with a maximum desalination capacity of 70 cubic hectometers per yearas reported by Sacyr in a statement.
The project, awarded by Acuamed, will increase the desalination capacity of the plant by 30,000 cubic meters per day, so it will be able to treat up to 210,000 cubic meters of seawater every day.
