Astralpool CN Sabadell has once again shown that it firmly dominates European competitions. The Vallesanas have been much superior to the Plebiscito Padova and this is what the scoreboard has confirmed: 19-7. The victory for David Palma’s team has served to tie their fifth European Super Cup at home, in the Can Llong pool.
Despite being a season with significant changes in the squad, Sabadell has shown that maintaining pillars like Sofia Giustini and Irene González and incorporating pieces like Rita Keszthelyi and Simone van de Kraats (the top scorer in the final, since has scored four goals) bears extraordinary results.
Sabadell started the final with great determination and showed that they wanted to take control of the match from the start. It took Sofia Giustini 90 seconds to use the electronics and it gave way to an offensive gale that Padova could not stop. The partial was intractable: the first quarter ended with a 4-0 in favor of the Vallesanas. The other three goals were from Rita Keszthelyi, Bea Ortiz and Irene Casadó.
But if with the first eight minutes of the match it was already palpable that they had the game on track, the second quarter even further corroborated the offensive power of David Palma’s team with a 7-2 run. Van de Kraats scored three goals and the other four were shared by Sofia Giustini, Ona Jurado, Bea Ortiz and Paula Leitón. For the visiting team, Maxine Celine Schaap and Nikol Muissu scored.
