Financial expert Enanov: you can save on office supplies by buying them at grocery stores
To prevent expenses on preparing a child for the school year, which continue after September, from making a hole in the family budget, they can be evenly distributed throughout the year and at the same time save, Marat Enanov, financial director of the Orange loyalty service, is convinced. In a conversation with Lenta.ru, he suggested ways for parents not to go broke on purchases for schoolchildren.
From late August to early September, school supplies, including school uniforms, are sold at inflated prices, the expert said. So, it is better to purchase essential items in advance, and buy the rest during the sales season, which begins in September, he advised. Enanov added that it is better to order clothes on marketplaces, as there are often discounts there.
“They usually stock up on notebooks and pens for six months to a year in advance: it’s cheaper, especially if you buy stationery in large packages. But if you run out of something you need ahead of time, you can always go to the nearest supermarket to get it. The fact is that prices for office supplies are lower in non-core stores, for example, grocery stores,” shared the source of Lenta.ru.

Speaking of nutrition, the expert suggested considering the possibility of taking home-made lunches and snacks to school. And to make cooking more profitable, he advised using loyalty services in grocery stores and planning the menu taking into account seasonal products and discounts on them.
“The budget for excursions varies significantly from school to school, so the recommendation will be universal: plan these expenses in advance. Remember that exhibition halls and museums usually have discounts for schoolchildren, as well as free hours for excursions – try, together with the parent committee, to plan a visit in such a way as to qualify for such benefits,” recommended Enanov.
Talk to other parents about teacher gift or travel fees to help budget for the necessary amounts. Usually 15 thousand rubles is enough for these purposes
Also, additional costs include consultations with tutors and classes, the expert noted. According to him, it will be easier to integrate these expenses into the family budget if you prepare for them in advance by saving money in a special “fund.”
