The Ministry of Internal Affairs urged Russians to check the data and expiration dates of their passports before going on vacation
The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs called on Russians to check the details and expiration dates of their international passports before their summer vacation. This is reported by RIA News with reference to the press service of the department.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminded that on the eve of holidays it is necessary to check the availability of documents in advance. “Entry and exit into the territory of Russia is carried out if the citizen has a foreign passport, which is an official document and certifies the identity of the citizen outside Russia,” the ministry said.
Any citizen of Russia, regardless of age, can receive a foreign passport in accordance with the established rules. Upon receipt of the document, it is necessary to carefully check the correctness of the spelling of the data, as well as point out other possible errors, the Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized.
If you find an error or change your settings, you should promptly contact any migration department at your place of registration or actual residence. “Such a passport will be replaced free of charge,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted.
Earlier, the Association of Russian Tour Operators reported that Russians may have problems with foreign passports at the border. The reason for the seizure of a document may be the use of the letter “е”, an outdated name of the place of birth, peculiarities of the typewritten point and incorrect transliteration.
