Kremlin: We do not participate in Western nuclear rhetoric

The Russian president, Vladimir Putin, is ready to demonstrate its willingness to use weapons of mass destruction with a nuclear test on the borders of Ukraine. The British newspaper “The Times” writes that NATO has already sent a report on the matter to the member states. This is an intelligence report that would contain a series of actions that could be taken by Russia, including testing the Poseidon submarine drone equipped with an atomic warhead and nicknamed “the weapon of the apocalypse”. Furthermore, according to other sources, a Russian military train of the nuclear division has left for Ukraine. The division is “responsible for nuclear munitions, their storage, maintenance, transport and release of units”, writes the newspaper.

A high-level defense source, however, said that Putin’s willingness to use nuclear weapons could probably reach the Black Sea. According to the newspaper, Putin is preparing for a “significant escalation” of the conflict in Ukraine. For this reason the sources consulted by “The Times” believe that such a show of force will be probable and consider it “not impossible” that the head of the Kremlin can give his approval to the launch of a tactical nuclear weapon in Ukraine.

Kremlin: We do not participate in Western nuclear rhetoric – Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia does not want to “take part” in the “nuclear rhetoric” of “Western media and politicians”. “In the Western media, Western politicians, heads of state now have many exercises in nuclear rhetoric. We do not want to take part in this,” Peskov said, quoted by Tass, commenting on the news of the Times that, citing a statement sent by the Born to the member states, he argues that Vladimir Putin could theoretically prepare his armed forces to carry out a nuclear test on Ukraine’s borders.
