Roscosmos: Oleg Kononenko spent a total of a record 1000 days in space
Russian cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko set a historical record, becoming the first to spend a total of 1000 days in space. This was reported by the Roscosmos state corporation in Telegram-channel.
Since September 2023, Kononenko has been on his fifth space flight. It is expected that upon completion of the annual flight to the ISS, scheduled for September 23, 2024, the total flight time of the astronaut will be 1110 days.
In March, Oleg Kononenko was given command of the International Space Station (ISS). On February 4, he set a world record for total time in space. Kononenko exceeded the achievement of Russian cosmonaut Gennady Padalka, who spent a total of 878 days 11 hours 29 minutes 48 seconds in space over five missions (from 1998 to 2015).
