Russian air defense systems repulsed the attack of the Ukrainian army on a hydroelectric power station (HPP) in Nova Kakhovka. This was announced by the head of the administration of the Kherson region Volodymyr Saldo, reports RIA News.
“The consequences of the destruction of such a production facility could be catastrophic for the residents of the Kherson region,” said Saldo.
According to him, the Russian air defense successfully repulsed the attack and prevented the HPP from being put out of action, and the enterprise continues to generate energy.
Earlier, Deputy Head of the Administration of the Kherson Region Kirill Stremousov said that on the morning of July 8, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) launched a missile attack on a hydroelectric power station (HPP) in Nova Kakhovka. He also stated about the victims of the shelling, without specifying their number.
